Technical Assistance Grants (up to $5,000)

 

Agencies that have successfully completed an Intake and/or Assessment (through BEST or on their own) may be eligible to apply for a Technical Assistance Grant.  A maximum of $5,000 is available for Technical Assistance projects aimed at increasing the capacity of the organization.  Technical Assistance Grant applications should address how the proposed project will increase organizational capacity in the given area as well as how changes will be maintained and sustained over time.  Example projects might include:  governance training; creating a case for support; technology upgrades; organizational planning; developing a website.


Approved Technical Assistance Grants must demonstrate the following:

  • A direct link to assessment data in the issue area
  • Readiness and internal capacity to complete the proposed project i.e., staff availability, board commitment, technology infrastructure, etc..
  • Willingness to work with a consultant or technical assistance provider from the vetted BEST pool
  • Ability to sustain project outcomes or adapt as needed over time

Eligibility:  Genesee County 501c3 nonprofit organizations are eligible for Technical Assistance Grants.  Organizations that do not have a 501c3 designation will be considered for services on case-by-case basis.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANTS ARE DUE ON THE SECOND FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH BEGINNING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2012 THROUGH FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2013.  

NOTE:  INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES MAY TAKE 30 TO 90 DAYS PRIOR TO SUBMISSION.
