The BEST Nonprofit Leadership Institute is the place in Genesee County that offers comprehensive, professional development for motivated people who want to give back to their community through the nonprofit sector. This one-year program of education and enrichment will give you essential resources and practical knowledge to transform you and your leadership capability.
ANALYSIS The Leadership Effectiveness Analysis™ measures your abilities in six areas: creating a vision, developing followership, implementing the vision, following through, achieving results and team playing.
UNDERSTANDING You will receive a personalized debrief about the results of your analysis so that you understand your strengths and opportunities for improvement.
COACHING You will be paired with a consultant for one-on-one coaching that is tailored to your schedule, needs and interests.
APPLICATION You and your coach will devise specific practice and application exercises that will solidify your understanding of key leadership and management principles.
EDUCATION You may attend as many BEST workshops as you would like during the year. Workshops and training are taught by experts and cover a variety of critical nonprofit topics.
NETWORKING Your “class” will get together six times during the year to discuss and learn from each other and from experts.
CONTINUING EDUCATION Upon completion of the course, you will receive a stipend to attend additional BEST workshops, as well as invitations to alumni roundtable sessions.

The BEST Nonprofit Leadership Institute is a vital resource for people who are near the beginning of their nonprofit career, but who are committed to developing their professional skills and applying them to one or more organizations. This could include anyone: volunteers, board members, executive directors, staff members, or community members at large.
