Universities conduct research and educational programs that seek to improve current understanding, analyze emerging trends, and promote promising innovations in the ways that nonprofit, government and business sectors can work to address social, economic and environmental challenges. It’s an opportunity for practitioners, students and scholars to explore and share ideas that create social change.
Many nonprofits have not considered the possibility of participating in a research project. Some organizations have considered it but have not had the opportunity to connect with university faculty. Still others want to explore additional opportunities to work with faculty to further advance their mission and to help faculty advance their scholarly work.
The BEST Project is collaborating with UM-Flint’s Office of University Outreach to bring together nonprofits and faculty to explore research possibilities. The first part of this 4-hour the session will explore how to get ready to work together. The second part of the day will provide an opportunity for nonprofit staff and faculty to connect on areas of mutual interest.
There is no charge for the event, but registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
