Consulting Summary My consulting work provides a grand opportunity to use the skills and insights derived from 30 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations - as staff, volunteer, CEO and board leader. Working as an Affiliate Consultant with Louise Motoligin (deceased)and as an individual consultant, I have completed long-term engagements in strategic planning as well as one-day workshops on board development and organizational planning. My approach to consulting work is to listen to clients, help clarify issues, find specific ways to help the organization make appropriate decisions and define actions necessary to move toward a sustainable future -- accomplishing these tasks in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
Professional Summary Experience with the subsectors listed comes from professional experience as well as leadership volunteer roles, including: Founding president of the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners - establishing the chapter, recruiting members and leadership, creating programs, policies and infrastructure; Founding board of the Sojourner Foundation; Serving on the governing and advisory boards as board member and officer of the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit (11 years); Consultant with Collaborative Management Consultants, Inc., -- specifically in the areas of strategic planning and board governance/board-staff relations. Experience gained in 11 years as CEO of the Women's Economic Club (now Inforum) in building board leadership, expanding programs and overall management of 1400-member organization has proven beneficial to nonprofit organizations meeting similar challenges.
