Consulting Summary I choose to consult because I believe in the mission-based work of nonprofits. I have a keen understanding of the issues and challenges facing local nonprofits at the board, staff and programmatic levels. My primary recent work has been focused in strategic planning, team-building, organizational consultation, quality improvement processes, assessment and technical writing. I have worked with Genesee County agencies during the assessment and capacity building phases of the BEST project during 2004-2005,and 05-06.
Professional Summary Prior to starting my consulting work, I worked for 10 years as VP for Community Investment for an urban United Way- I had the privilege of working directly with over 100 different nonprofit organizations of varying sizes and capacities and, in my role as a funder, was aware of best practice models and current research in the areas of expertise listed above. A large part of my professional life has also been in assessing and redesigning models of effectiveness, including community impact and outcome measurement models. I have experience in convening, designing and coaching collaboration teams around community issues- I enjoy working with resident and stakeholder groups. I recently completed a national multi-site project with Fieldstone Alliance (formerly Wilder Center for Communities) as part of the National Alliance for Ticket to Work.
